     Spotty Bowl is a catch, photograph, and release Tournament Series to crown the Spotted Bay Bass Fishing Champion of the World! 

     

     Spotty Bowl has two sections – the San Diego Section, fishing Mission Bay and San Diego Bay; and the LA/OC Section, which fishes Newport Harbor, Alamitos Bay, Marina Del Rey, Huntington Harbor.​  Within each Section, we have Divisions for anglers on watercraft (kayaks, float tubes, boats), and anglers who fish from shore. We also break down the Watercraft Divisions by experience level to do our best to give everyone a chance to compete against anglers with similar experience.Spotty Bowl runs for seven Regular Season Rounds from January into June. Shore Division Anglers have the entire Tournament Week (Monday-Sunday) to fish a Declared seven hour session.

     Anglers in the Watercraft Divisions must complete their Declared seven hour Session on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Sessions times are: Morning/AM 6AM-1PM, Afternoon/PM 1pm-8PM, and on Fridays and Saturdays, there are Night Sessions 5pm-12AM/Midnight. Spotty Bowl anglers fish for the longest five fish bag of spotted bay bass each Round. An angler’s top six scores from those seven Rounds, count towards Season Rankings (each angler gets one “mulligan” Round). The top anglers for the Season Qualify for the head-to head playoff Rounds.

     We also are very fortunate to have Amazing Sponsors who award thousands of dollars in cash and other prizes for winning Side Pots throughout the entire Season. All anglers can compete in the Side Pots, they are included in the entry fee! It all wraps up with a big fun Awards Ceremony/Party at the conclusion of the Final Round!
